Common chicory can be grown as a decorative plant in flower beds and in aromatic plant gardens. Its dried, roasted and ground roots are consumed as a substitute for coffee. Cichorium intybus needs full sun exposure and protected from frost. Blue dandelion needs calcareous soils to be able to be (add calcium carbonate if we do not have this type of soil). Water moderately throughout the year; slightly increase watering in summer. Fertilize with manure 2 months before sowing and add mineral fertilizer just before sowing. Radicchio is a resistant plant to diseases and common pests. Succory propagates by sown seeds, in their final location, in spring. |
