Care of the plant Aglaonema or Chinese evergreen

Aglaonema is a botanical genus of 20 species of flowering plants in the Araceae family, native to the humid rainforests of Southwest Asia from Bangladesh to the Philippines and northern and southern China.

Common name: Chinese evergreen.

They are used as a houseplant, although in a temperate climate they can be grown outdoors in a shade exposure.

Aglaonema is a tropical plant that lives for many years.

It should be placed in the light, but without direct sun since the sun's rays burn the leaves. The temperature should not drop below 15 ºC.

Soil can be a commercial substrate for houseplants.

Irrigation should keep the soil moist, but not puddled.

Aglaonema can be propagate by division.

To keep it shiny, clean the leaves with a damp sponge. Do not use rinse aid.

It's better not to fertilize it at rest; use a mineral fertilizer for houseplants during the flowering season every 10 days.
